Our members' voices are critical in driving equity, shaping policy, and creating pathways to opportunity. They play a leading role in:
- Formulating and implementing inclusive community economic development policies that reflect the lived experiences of underserved communities.
- Expanding access to career development and leadership training for women of color—ensuring they thrive in a safe, supportive, and empowering professional environment.
- Connecting members to industry leaders and career opportunities that have historically been inaccessible to women of color.

The women work in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors across a broad range of community development fields: social services, finance, real estate, and affordable housing development, advocacy, social enterprise, venture capital, education, and social entrepreneurship. WCCD was formed to enable women of color to connect, learn, support and network, with a goal of advancing each other both professionally and personally.
